Mercia School is committed to making every effort to ensure that pupils are as well informed as possible for their examinations. We are extremely excited to offer examinations for the first time in the summer of 2023. A key priority for the school is to deliver examinations fully and completely in line with Joint Council for Qualifications policy, as well as the guidelines outlined by each examination board we work with. We offer examinations with the following boards:
As a school, we are exceptionally keen to ensure that key stakeholders are well prepared for examinations in the summer of 2023. This section of the website will be updated annually to reflect examination administration for the academic year. This page outlines the essential elements of exam administration. Our Exams Officer is Mrs Darlow and she can be contacted via firstname.lastname@example.org. The Deputy Headteacher, Mr Fisher, or the Assistant Headteacher, Miss Green, should be contacted if the enquiry relates to a subject or specific pupil.
Essential information for pupils and parents/carers:
- Morning exams start at 9.15am and pupils are expected to be in school by 07:45am for pre-exam sessions.
- Afternoon exams start at 13:15pm and students need to be here no later than 12.30pm for those.
JCQ Exam Documents
As part of the exam regulations set out by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) pupils need to be aware of key documents with regard to examinations and any non-examined assessment as a part of the course. When the pupils enter Year 11, documents will be uploaded to ensure the right advice is provided to parents/carers. The 2021-22 arrangements for examinations are heavily impacted by the ongoing impact of the pandemic and not relevant to our our Year 10 pupils.
We envisage that the examinations in 2023 will be a 'normal' exam season, but will keep all stakeholders fully aware of changes/announcements.
